The Consul General of Greece: A Mosque to be built in Athens

Vasileios Bornovas, Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, paid a visit to the Mayor of Trabzon Recep Kizilcik to express his thanks regarding the official permission given to Orthodox Christians to perform a ritual at Sumela Monastery in Macka.

Bornovas stated that giving the permission to perform a ritual at Sumela Monastery after 88 years is considerably significant and promising, and added;

“Greece Government has taken an official decision to have a mosque built in Athens. We are all waiting for the construction to start.”
