From Adnan Oktar's interview on 26 March 2010, Harunyahya.tv
ADNAN OKTAR:And that is how it is with the knowledge of the Unseen. People frequently talk as if they know all the answers. Let me reiterate this one more time, so that it won't be brought up again, insha'Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from satan. In verse 65 of Surat an Naml: "Say: 'No one in the heavens and the earth knows the Unseen except Allah.' They are not aware of when they will be raised." Nobody other than Allah knows the Unseen. Some people say, "Look, Allah says here that nobody can know the Unseen, so how can you impart hadiths or incidents about the Unseen? That is wrong." For example, when we talk about events that will take place in the End Times, or about other events and when we say that the Prophet (saas) informed of these, they respond, "That is unacceptable, it violates the Qur'an". "Because," they say "No one [in the heavens and the earth] knows the Unseen except Allah" as in verse 65 of Surat an Naml. "No one knows them [the keys of the Unseen] but Him" in verse 59 of Surat al An'am. But this would be a very dishonest behavior when taking one part of the Qur'an and leaving out another. Allah refers to "those who divide the Qur'an into little pieces" (Surat Al Hijr, 91). This is not correct, the Qur'an has to be taken as a whole.
See what Almighty Allah says; "He is the Knower of the Unseen." Allah knows the hidden knowledge. "And does not divulge His Unseen to anyone." In other words, he reveals it to no one. Apart from, "Except a Messenger with whom He is well pleased" (Surat Al Jinn, 26-27). Allah says He reveals the Unseen to them. So that answer puts an end to the subject, doesn't it? This means, knowledge of the Unseen is revealed by Allah to His Messengers, and the Messengers tell us about this hidden knowledge. That is what Almighty Allah informs when He says that the Unseen is not known. He rules, "I know, and if I reveal it to you, you will know." It is no good if they do not explain this also.
"Allah has not given you access to the Unseen." (Surah Al 'Imran, 179). In other words, He will not tell you hidden things. "But"; there is an exception. "But Allah chooses those of His Messengers whom He wills." So He reveals the Unseen to them. "So have iman in Allah and His Messengers. If you have iman and taqwa you will have an immense reward." (Surah Al 'Imran, 179) Look, Allah reveals how He applies this provision, how He reveals hidden things in this verse. In verse 44 of Surah Al 'Imran:"This is news from the Unseen" in other words, things that people do not know, but only Allah knows. "Which we reveal to you," see that Allah says He imparts hidden knowledge that nobody else knows and He informs His Messeger of the Unseen that no one in the world knows. Allah says "We reveal," so in other words the Unseen can be known through revelation, isn't that right?
Look, again in Surah Hud, verse 49: "That is some of the news of the Unseen." Allah reveals the Prophet (saas) the knowledge of the Unseen. "Neither you nor your people knew it before this time." He cannot know it, because it is hidden knowledge, insha'Allah. Allah emphasizes that.
For instance, in verse 102 of Surah Yusuf: "This is news of the Unseen which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they decided what to do and devised their scheme." In other words, there is no difference between a past event and a future one. Look, the same provision encompasses the unknown things of the past and future. They say the future cannot be known; but the past cannot be known also. Nobody knows it, because it has been forgotten. Nobody knows; those people are dead and gone. What remains? Only the knowledge of the Unseen known to Allah. Allah knows both past and future. Both are called the Unseen, and the same ruling applies to both. There is no difference between past and future. Because in an instant, what we call the past is already the future at the same time. And the future has happened and is in the past concurrently. One can understand this if he thinks of it as a single moment. For example, the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) has long since come and has long been buried beside our Prophet (saas). What is this? The past. But it is also the future. Hazrat Mahdi (as) has long since come. He has long since done his work. He has long since died and gone to the Hereafter. What is this? It is the past and already ended. But it is also the future.
For example, Prophet Jesus (pbuh) says, "And when Isa son of Maryam said,"… …"giving you the good news of a Messenger after me whose name is Ahmad." (Surat As Saff, 6) Look, he is revealing hidden knowledge of the coming of someone called Ahmad. He is telling of the future. Isn't he? He is reporting that knowledge hundreds of years before the event. This is news of the Unseen.
See that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) says: "I will tell you what you eat and what you store up in your homes." (Surah Al 'Imran, 49) That is news of the Unseen. He tells that by revelation. There are many such verses in the Qur'an. These are reports of the Unseen. This is a long subject, so I think that is probably enough. Insha'Allah.
