People want to live at ease, full of love. We want all ideas to be respected. Because repression is painful. Let us imagine a communist, an atheist, a Jew, a Christian, a mason. It is unacceptable for all these people to be repressed so you can be happy. Muslims must be happy, but so must people of other beliefs be at ease. That is how to be happy. For example, one cannot be at ease if one sees people holding different beliefs to one’s own being oppressed. Contrary to what some people think, that does not impart happiness. Ease comes from seeing freedom bestowed on all ideas. Communities must not be oppressed and people’s rights must not be violated. That is the attribute of the way of the Mahdi. It means bestowing freedom on all beliefs. It is the true meaning of living by democracy. People who see this being done will of course feel a profound respect for Islam, the Qur’an and the way of the Mahdi (as). Repression brings with it hatred and anger. Human beings are proud. When they see repression the resulting anger persists throughout their lives. Restraining them has very negative consequences. That is why people dislike martial law. They can never forget it. It remains with them for years.
Hazrat Mahdi (as) is ultra-modern. The Prophet Jesus (as) is ultra-modern. They are the most modern and finest quality people of the age. Being a Muslim means being a top quality person. A Muslim is a most rational person, the finest thinking, someone who most delights in art and beauty. A Muslim is what we call someone who is most perfect in everything.
